I'm sorry.

I am not sorry for exercising my First Amendment Right, but I want to apologize to anyone who might read this blog. This blog was started as a means to update on Noah's health, or lack thereof. Then, God showed me that we weren't the only people on earth to experience tragedy and loss, so it has been a means by which to encourage others on this difficult journey called life. It has been a place for us to communicate with family and friends by sharing pictures and stories, as well. But, my original intent, and the way I try to live my life day to day, was for this to be a place where God is glorified and where hard truth be wrestled with, out loud, because I know I am not the only one that wrestles with God.

I know, like everyone else in America, I have the right to speak my political opinions. But quite frankly, politics aren't the most important thing/topic in life...AT ALL. So, I am sorry for my former posts on politics, not for the opinions I hold or convictions for which I stand, but for wasting your time. By that I mean, political freedom of speech is inundating all of us at every turn and if you want to hear/see/read it, you have ample opportunity. We can all exercise our choice to find it elsewhere. Your time, and mine, is important. That's why I don't post everyday...not because if you do, your time isn't important, but because we all have lives to live and I don't want to post something just so I'm popular or have lots of readers. That's not important to me. You are important to me, not as a cyber person but as a real person with a real heart who is loved by a REAL GOD!

I want to be true to my heart and respectful of anyone who might read Noah's blog and write here about perspective, eternal things and my imperfect pursuit of knowing God in His grace. Yes, there will be days that I don't post because my heart is blank, I have writer's block, or I don't see a need to waste your time with cyberbabble. And, there may be days where I post about something that has nothing to do with anything spiritual or deep because I'm sharing with family and friends about an Em story or something funny that happened. But, in all, I want to be a good steward of this blog and of the time one might spend reading here, as well as the time God moves in my heart to write.

It's been on my heart to apologize for wasting your time, and God's. I am sorry.

  2. You are such an inspiration to me and most people I know who read your blog. I found you when I lost my son and was struggling with my relationship with God. Please never feel you have to apologize for ANYTHING on your own blog. If somebody doesn't like it they should not read it. Pleasse don't stop what you are doing, it has made a difference in my life.

  4. Did you just apologize on your own blog? That's a big no-no! These are your thoughts, your words, your blog. Interestingly enough, my political views differ from yours (a little bit), but please never apologize for anything. I'd hope that nobody has made you feel bad by sending rude comments or otherwise.

  5. I love to read your blog! No need to appologize! Your blog has inspired people all over the world. I think it's amazing for you to be able to touch 100's of thousands of lives through your journey. I also love to read about the fun things in your life. I've often wondered, do you ever feel "pressured" to blog by your popularity in the cyberworld? For instance when you are going through a period of "bloggers-block" and knowing there are thousands of people checking in everyday...it must at times be frustrating. Just wondering....

  6. Wasting my time? Oh my Adrienne you help remind me that there are sensible young people out there who aren't into the me me me way of life and hold dear many of the same things I believe and know in. (Okay I am not in my 30s but I'm NOT old enough to be your mom either!) Please don't apologize for sharing your beliefs and feelings. All too often they are mine as well ... I just don't have a blog!
Why is it that people who lean toward being conservative always find themselves apologizing for how they feel and where they stand?

  7. no apology needed here either....

I say politics are a great place for christians to be. Politics is in itself our theology applied to law. I'd rather people who have the same theology as I do giving their voice in politics --- then only hearing from people who base their theology on laws & culture.

if somebody doesn't want to read a post on politics --- they don't have to. Also people should do their own controlling of time. They should be able to determine how much time they should spend on the computer... and what blog entries to spend the most time. leave that freedom for them. I say exercise your freedom and let people use the grocery store approach. take what they want and what applies to them and what they want to read --- and leave the rest.

you are not in control of anybody's spiritual growth - you are simply sharing yourself - all parts and being authentic and that is what touches people.

anyway - I could probably go on and on. :) thanks for sharing your heart - all parts of it. The the challenges, questions and concerns we all have to face in our every day life as christians, as Americans.

have a great day :) love the blog

  9. No need to apologize! Your blog and your words are a blessing. No one is forced to read anything - that's the beauty of America! :) But we keep coming back because we love hearing your words and His words. And if there are some readers who get turned off by things in your blog - political or otherwise - well then, too bad, huh?

P.S. - Sorry we missed each other over the weekend :( I was thinking about you and I assure you were were both sore on Sunday! Although you were probably a lot more sore than I was... ;) All my love!

I agree with everyone here that you don't need to apologize for YOUR blog. But as someone who reads your blog because you let God use you and share those details with us, I was disappointed to read the about politics (even though I agree with most of it). I even love the stories of Em that I know you are sharing for your families sake. So once again, thanks for being honest, vunerable, and human.
So maybe you could continue to write this blog, write your book, and then start another blog where you address politics. :)
May God continue to use you to reach 1000s! Jaylene Howell

  11. Do not apoligize. You blog what you want. Wether it is about missing Noah, Em having a great day at school(by the way how is school going for her) or about the weather. You are not wasting our time or God's. God gives you the ablity to share your love for God and your good news of God on your blog..it is your right. You should read my blog..somedays I blog only at the end of the weekend and nothing else..sometimes I am clearly irriated and blog about stuff that makes no sense and somedays my heart is heavy missing my loved ones. So blog away..some of us check in everyday to see what is going on! Thank you for sharing and keeping some of us on track with God. Have a great day.

  12. Your blog. . . You get to write what you want. . .Which also means that you get to apologize, if you feel so led. ;)

For some reason I never get around to mentioning anything political on my blog, but I do enjoy reading political ruminations, from all different prespectives. Much love, E :)

  14. Please do not apologize...isn't your blog supposed to be whatever YOU want to write? Please continue to pour your heart out, I wish I could hug you and make all of your pain go away. But, I know that you are comforted from HIM. God Bless you and your family. Jenny from CA

If you are interested - - I am reading the book "Jesus for President" by Shane Claiborne and am finding it quite profound, challenging and thought provoking. It addresses the ENTIRE politics vs. religion debate. I would leave my thoughts on the matter but it would be very long rambling comment!

  16. Ms. Adrienne,

Sharing bits and pieces of you, your take on the world, is exactly WHY so many of us come back to your blog. We love ya for who you are in days of intense Godly wisdom and the days of opinion and reflection.

  17. Adrienne,
While you didn't need to apologize to me, I do respect that if it was on your heart to apologize, then you should be able to do that, too!
    Blessings,

Hon, you do what you feel God wants you to do, however, please know that just as you have freedom of speech (and this IS your blog afterall), the readers also have freedom to SCROLL. If someone does not like something you've said, they have the freedom to scroll past it and not read it.

That being said, I love your blogs. I look forward to reading them. They give me renewed strength to make it day after day, and it's the Lord speaking through you, and that's quite amazing.

So, you post away, and know that you have devoted people reading them and looking forward to them!

  19. My son came to sit by me as I read your latest post. I'd forgotten to turn the volume off on my computer, so the music started. He looked at the page and saw you holding Noah. He said "baby singing?" What a sweet though. Noah IS singing. It was such a sweet and innocent moment, I thought I'd share.

    Adrienne,
You don't need to apologize. I may not share your same political beliefs, or stance on certain issues, but I still read your blog, because I am a Mom, who admires your strength.
