How many lives are lost everyday due to infertility treatments, the lack of stem cell research (outside of embryonic) the war, poverty or lack of health insurance. How about instead of helping yourself up (or survival of the fittest) we love our neighbors as our selves? I just don’t feel that Mcann and Palin love that? I stopped and picked it up and started thumbing through it out of curiosity (with no intention of buying it). My 16 year old son, Max, said, "Put that down." I looked at him, instantly interested in this reaction, and said "I was thinking of buying it to see what it's all about." To which he replied, "I won't let you bring that in our house. Put it down." So I did and we kind of laughed about it all the while I'm thinking this is very interesting. Later that night I asked him what he'd heard about the book and he said nothing he just didn't feel good about it. He didn't know why. I loved it. I'm not sure that has anything to do with the way he was "trained up" or if it's just a God-given gift, but it gives me great peace!Candyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15472257745410066972noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32529371.post-8472106750389375242008-09-11T05:15:00.000-06:002008-09-11T05:15:00.000-06:00Great post! By the way, Sarah Palin doesn't need to promise to lower taxes or anything else....she's not running for president...she just has to back up the one who is running for president. Maybe abortion will not be outlawed with a Republican in the office, but we, as a nation, are influencing many other smaller countries with our views. If we are pro-abstinence, etc., etc., other countries follow suit (i.e. Trinidad and Tobago, specifically).

If we know an issue is wrong, how can we vote for the person who supports it? I think that by voting for someone who supports an issue we disagree with we are giving that issue a stamp of approval. The Baby Makes 4https://www.blogger.com/profile/11380652272734679159noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32529371.post-65710057848288759562008-09-10T20:21:00.000-06:002008-09-10T20:21:00.000-06:00YOU GO GIRL! John McCain for president on Monday.

In its editorial, the newspaper said "McCain's lifelong record of service to America, his battle-tested courage, unshakeable devotion to principle and clear grasp of the dangers and opportunities now facing the nation stand in dramatic contrast to the tissue-paper-thin résumé of his Democratic opponent, freshman Sen. Barack Obama."

The Post also said that while McCain has been part of Washington politics for years, "he is not of Washington. He knows where the levers of power are located -- and how to manipulate them -- but he is not controlled by them."

The Post also said:

McCain's running mate, Gov. Sarah Palin, was a charming, rock-solid outsider.

Obama and Sen. Joseph Biden "lead a party constructed of special interests."

McCain and Palin are better poised to lead on such issues as national security, taxes, trade, and energy.

The paper summed up its endorsement by stating: "Sound security, economic and energy policies -- plus allegiance to principle -- are critical to keeping America safe and strong.

"On all counts, John McCain and Sarah Palin understand this -- and that's why we're in their corner to the finish."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32529371.post-6601990071025341552008-09-10T15:13:00.000-06:002008-09-10T15:13:00.000-06:00Great post. This video on YouTube might be of interest to those of you "on the fence". It may be a little dramatic but we should all be aware of what has actually happened to babies right here in America. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYRpIf2F9NA

Over 41 MILLION babies have died since Roe v. Wade. We're killing over 3,000 of our own American citizens EACH DAY right here on our own soil. As I said, I need a President that believes our tiniest human beings have rights and should be protected. I won't hide behind a title of "anonymous." But, sadly, it just shows the ignorance of "anonymous." Until you walk in a person's steps, we cannot judge. I'd like to see "anonymous" have to face some of the situations that Sarah Palin has faced, just to see how he/she would have handled it. It's so easy to be a Monday morning quarterback.
