The end and the beginning...

If you've ever been sick of yourself, over your selfish ways, disgusted with your inconsistencies, your mediocrity, your "youness", YOU ARE NOT ALONE! It's how I wake up most mornings...knowing God's grace, but wishing, somehow I could repay Him for something I don't rightly deserve. I am only one of 6 billion imperfect humans that God loves, in spite of myself, and to ponder it, I am in awe, because I know I don't deserve it, yet it's reality...God loves my guts! And that love extends literally, LITERALLY, to every other human He made...so, I wanted to share this song, and an experiment, to encourage you on your journey to grow deeper, get over yourself, accept that you are crusty sometimes, but oh so lovely and worth loving. It's the getting over ourselves part that gets us every time...because it's not about us.
  • Push "pause" on Noah's play list.
  • Lay on floor on your face, without distraction.
  • Push "play" on the first song I added today.
  • Listen to the words (also written below).
  • Be in awe of God.
  • Let Him do the rest...the end of ourselves, the beginning of something beautiful.

Oh the Glory of it All
By: David Crowder Band

At the start, He was there, He was there
In the end, He’ll be there, He’ll be there
After all, our hands have wrought, He forgives

Oh the glory of it all, is He came here
For the rescue of us all, that we may live
For the glory of it all, for the glory of it all

All is lost, find Him there, find Him there
After night, dawn is there, dawn is there
After all, falls apart, He repairs, He repairs

Oh the glory of it all, is he came here
For the rescue of us all, that we may live
For the glory of it all, oh He is here
Redemption from the fall, that we may live
For the glory it all, oh the glory of it all
The glory of it all, oh the glory of it all

After night, comes a light, dawn is here, dawn is here
It’s a new day, it’s a new day

Everything will change
Things will never be the same
We will never be the same
We will never be the same
We will never be the same
We will never be the same

Oh the glory of it all, is You came here
For the rescue of us all, that we may live
For the glory of it all, oh You are here
With redemption for us all, that we may live
For the glory of it all, oh the glory of it all
The glory of it all, oh the glory it all

Everything will change
Things will never be the same
We will never be the same
We will never be the same
We will never be the same
We will never be the same
We will never be the same
We will never be the same…

  3. I did as you described, face on the floor and all. I was struck by all of the words but particularly, "After night, dawn is there, dawn is there, After all falls apart, He repairs, He repairs." And, "We will never be the same."

Thanks for the song, lyrics and the direction to get in a place of submission & contemplation without distraction.

With Jesus, things will never be the same.

  4. Hey Adrienne...

Just wanted to reply to your comment (thanks for that by the way)! I havn't quite figured out how to change a template without losing some of my stuff (blogger addresses, etc.). BUT... the template I am currently using came from http://www.simplyfabulousbloggertemplates.com/

Lena is the designer and if you email her questions she is REALLY good about writing right back and helping out. I am using one of her free templates (she has a bunch on the website), and she still seemed very happy to help with any issues.

My other thought is that you could publish your blog as it is right now. Blurb.com lets you make your whole blog into a book! How cool is that!!

God bless you guys! I am forever blessed by your blog... Meg

  5. God certainly does speak to us through music doesn't he?! I loved it Adrienne!

Speaking of sharing songs, my favorite praise and worship song is 'Lead Me To The Cross' I could sing it all day and all night (and sometimes I do!)

If anyone would like to hear it you can find it on my blog.... I think its the last song on my playlist at the bottom of my page or I am sure you can find it on youtube.com or even playlist.com

Have a Blessed weekend Adrienne and all your readers!

    Love Carly x

I found your blog last week while reading a family friend's blog and was blown away by your story and Noah's. I am a mother of 2 young boys and can't even imagine the heartache you have gone through.

At church yesterday the sermon was about God's supremacy through suffering. I don't know you, but you kept trickling into my mind. If you're interested in hearing the sermon and listening to the worship songs (which had me weeping), click on the following link and the sermon for 7/20: http://www.trcpella.com/pages/page.asp?page_id=12267

May God continue to bless you and use you in ways you probably can't even imagine.
