Our last two South Dakota sunsets...

We are back in Denver as of last night. We had a really good month in South Dakota with family and friends…laughs, tears, hugs, good conversation, times of prayer, and, of course, gorgeous sunsets. David wrote in the book of Psalms that even the sun praises God. In Revelation, John says that in the City of God there will be no need of the sun because God’s glory will be our light. Everything on earth depends on the sun for life. Everything. The earth would freeze over without the sun. I wonder if we live our lives like they depend on God for EVERYTHING? Like He’s the center of our universe? I stared at sunsets all month and am in awe of the magnitude of the reality that even the sun praises the same God I adore with my heart…and not just the sun, but the moon, the stars, the skies. Perhaps I’m talking a little too ‘creationy’ for some Christians, but the reality is there are many who claim to know intimacy with God but don’t cry out as loudly as a silent sparkling star millions of miles away, yet He’s worthy…

(Once it stops raining, I'll post a view from my yard of a Denver, it won't be nearly as exciting with the house behind me, the electrical wires, and the rest of the city between us and the mountains. You'll see why I was adamant about catching every sunset this summer...)

Everything on earth should depend on the SON, though not all believe that.

Psalm 24:1 "The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it;"

I can totally relate to your sunset pictures and why you love them so much.
We recently moved and the one thing I truely miss about our old house is the sunRISES from the kitchen window. I'm up early in the morning and while making breakfast and packing lunches for the kids,I would watch the sun rise and the BREATHTAKING skies until they disappear. I have a billion pictures because every single was was different and I couldn't NOT take a picture. From the skies that look like their on fire rolling over the hills to the sweet pink kissed sky. God is so amazing!

  6. I am another lover of the sunrises and sunsets. God's beauty is simply amazing. I try to take the time to be thankful for all of the beauty around me....God is so good!
It was such a blessing to hear you speak and it touched my heart very deeply. You and your family are never far from my thoughts. I continue to pray for your healing hearts. Enjoy the rest of the summer!

The month of July I also focused on the sunsets and wondered "wonder if Arienne is seeing this one?". It gives me a new perspective on the seasons and even the change in times when the sun sets every day.... it's so subtle.
You are daily in my prayers and thoughts and I'm praying God continues to give you times of refreshing wherever you are.
    Blessings dear sister,
