Praise! Noah is OFF ALL his antibiotics! Jason and I did not feel comfortable with the three "big guns" he was on, and the fact is...he'd been on 2 of them for 3 weeks, the third being introduced Monday when he spiked his fever "just in case". We don't mind antibiotics if scientifically something grows out in a culture, however, to throw 3 at him to cover the bases UNTIL something grows out, well, that just doesn't make sense...Well, nothing grew out of his cultures, so we told the docs that if they didn't take him off the antibiotics then we would decline that treatment. They came in later to let me know they had decided to take Noah off his antibiotics...excellent choice. This is not the only good news that came today...Noah is off "droplet precautions" so that means two things: 1) NO MORE YELLOW GOWNS, MASKS OR GLOVES and 2) WE ARE GOING TO TAKE NOAH OUTSIDE FOR SOME VITAMIN D! I'm so excited he'll get to have a little fresh air for the FIRST time in 2 1/2 months! We'll get a portable O2 tank and "bag" him outside.

I'm convinced Noah was having a nasty reaction to the meds b/c his face and body were beet red and his body is broken out in a terrible rash that won't go away (possibly due to the continuous drip of antibiotics). Also, his eyes look as if he's been doped and they didn't have that appearance earlier. Anyway, we are glad he is off the antibiotics now and we'll wait to see what his skin and eyes do from here. We have brought in probiotics to replenish his system after the overhaul of antibiotics.

I sent off some of my blood yesterday to a lab with the help of Tony, "The Amazing Lab Tech". Seriously, if you ever need a blood draw...he's the man! I've never had a more positive blood draw experience.

Because Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday were rough for Noah, I informed him that Thursday would be his day...so far, so good!

    Woohoo! Awesome.
Ade, you guys have been asking for prayer requests so I have one for you. My friend Dan just found out that his best friend's roommate (I don't even know her name) was beaten by a burglar yesterday and is in ICU in Baltimore. I don't even know her but it's easy to be angry at a God that "lets" stuff like that happen.
Then, I turn on my computer and there's little Noah's beautiful face and the evidence of your faith in an amazing God. So thank you for that.

    Lots of love!
    Chris

  4. Hold fast Adrienne and trust your gut. Our God uses our intuition as parents to work His good.

Noah is precious and I can't wait to meet him when he breaks out of there!

Thank You Jesus!!! You continue to come through for us all, always! We should all be so Grateful for the precious life you have given us. We are all so Grateful for the strength we have gained in watching, and praying, for your little angel Noah. May you continue to bless him and the rest of the Steven family. Today, the petty things going on in all our lives should be put aside, even for just a moment, in Thanksgiving for the precious life we are all living...
God bless you Adrienne and Jason. I've said it before, and I'll say it again and again, you are truly amazing... Lisa
