Prayer

Lord, I pray for every person affected by the fires in California. I pray that as they draw together in community they will see Your face and be comforted by Your loving kindness. I pray that the Enemy of our lives will not be successful in destroying hearts, hopes, and dreams. Lord, it's not like You are not aware of the devastation people are feeling in losing their physical treasures, but in the midst of it, Lord open their eyes to hope in You and everlasting peace that can only come from you. Lord, for all the volunteers, please bless them with strength to serve and to not grow weary in well doing. For all of those who have lost loved ones because of the fires, please give them the hope of Heaven. For those who have lost their homes and businesses, comfort them and bless them with wonderful new beginnings like Job. Lord, in all things You deserve the glory. Lord, all over this earth every single day there are tragic things that happen that we cannot comprehend. You see the bigger picture and somehow it all is beautiful or useful in Your perspective. Please, Lord, as our eyes are opened slightly with Your perspective, give us the hope that only comes from You. And when You lay those things on our hearts to pray, may we be obedient to do so, and to do it steadfastly.

  2. Thank you for your prayers. Our community has a high poppulation of Christians and many of them have lost their homes. Some still may lose homes. We are seeing God working all around us. God is a God of grace and mercy. Thank goodness for that.

  4. I am fervently praying your prayer. I felt so overwhelmed by all of it (I am a California girl living far from home) that I couldn't come up with eloquent prayers like yours! Thanks for this.

Adrienne- I want to share with you how much you and Noah have changed my life. I came across your blog the day before Noah went to Heaven. I was not a Christian and I feared death. I cried off and on all day after reading your posts. I prayed like I have never prayed before. I prayed that He would heal Noah and "save his life." With a saddened heart I continued to read your posts. The perspective you have has completely changed my way of thinking, living and praying. I found a wonderful Church. I was baptized in May and now I know that my real "life" will be in Heaven some day. I'm still sad for your pain, but I know you will have eternity together. God bless you. I hope some day I get the chance to meet Noah too. -dawn

  7. Adrienne,

I love the gentleness, sensitivity, and compassion of your prayer. It is filled with the Voice and Heart of God. I am reminded, too, of the verse, "Pray for one another that you may be healed." (James 5:16) As you have prayed for others, so you will continue to be healed moment by moment and day by day.

    Gratefully,

    Milt
