A Hospital Christmas

The other night Em informed us she wanted alone time with her brother...Jason pulled the curtains, she hopped up in bed with him and she drew pictures while he "watched" Baby Einstein. She's the best big sister in the whole wide world!

Today I was sitting on my bathroom floor bawling...Em came in and said, "I didn't realize you were crying, Mom!" I informed her I had just started...anyway, I asked her what she thought if Noah went to heaven to see Jesus. She said it would be okay. Later, though, she got kind of mad about it in the car and said, "No! I want to marry my brother! I can't if he's in heaven!" I told her she couldn't marry him any way, how God has some rules about marrying our siblings, but how their love was different, one that could never be taken away or conditional, regardless of where we live...

Anyway, it's the dawn of Christmas Eve and we are looking forward to celebrating the birth of Christ as a family. Thank you ALL for blessing us with a wonderful Christmas this year! We are humbled by the outpouring of cards, gifts, meals, visits, etc. We pray this Christmas would be meaningful and rich for you, too, and the people around you. If you celebrate Christmas for the True meaning, I have no doubt it will be a beautiful, life-altering experience. We pray for God's PEACE to fill your hearts and minds with the Joy and Life He freely gives. Eternal life is a free gift through Jesus Christ, the very first Christmas present to anyone who would believe...

You know, "people" are "buying" stars and naming them after themselves or someone they know (by the way, WHO is selling them and making the profits???)...God just went ahead and put the biggest one in the sky the night Jesus was born, and wise men still follow Him... Posted by Picasa

  2. Merry Christmas Graves family! Today, and everyday, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Your story about Em brought tears to my eyes. What a sweet girl! I am so sorry you are feeling the pain of the thought of Noah leaving this earth. I cannot even begin to fathom how that must feel, but please know that I am lifting you up in prayer.
On Wednesday our church is having an all day prayer vigil for Noah and I am believing so strongly for great things to happen.
Hug those precious kids for me!

Merry Christmas Graves Family! You all are in our thoughts and prayers daily! I have been checking the blog and not leaving a message lately because I find myself lacking the words. So, for that I apologize! We love you.... if you need us we are right here... FOR ANYTHING! Even if it is just coffee and conversation! We will be back on the 29th and we would love to come down and see the fam! Take care until then! Love, the Coward Family

  5. A reminder in hopes of added peace:

I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you. Psalm 32:8

May your faith in God's sovereignty relieve your anxiety so that you can experience more of the peace that comes only from him.

Merry Christmas Ade, Jason, Emily, Noah, Kaija, Betty, Bob, Dana, Ashley, Dan, and Robert!

Adrienne, regarding heaven and our little ones. This morning after our family devotion and prayer time, Allison asked what I would want for Christmas if I couldn't have the #1 best Christmas present in the whole world...... which would be to be with Jesus in heaven on Christmas day.
Russ and I looked at each other, with tears in our eyes, unable to respond at all. What could we possibly say to a 9 year old who lives her life heavenbound and longs to be there?

We love you and continue to pray.

Thank you again for bringing me back into a spiritual place this year. Isn't it cool that God is so tech-savvy that he delivered me to your website???!

Please cover Noah and Em in kisses for all of the people who wish they could be there to do it in person. And a big hug to you and Jason too. Merry Christmas.
